Brightland

Founder: Aishwarya Iyer

In 2015, Aishwarya made a commitment to cook more and be thoughtful about the ingredients that she used. Unfortunately, after eating her home-cooked food she often had stomach pains or felt nauseous. Aishwarya eliminated things like bread and cheese, but found no improvement. One day, she realized that the real issue was olive oil. After doing some intense googling, Aishwarya discovered that the majority of the olive oil Americans consume is either rotten, rancid, or adulterated. Not too long after this epiphany, Aishwarya moved to California and decided to take a course at UC Davis to study extra-virgin olive oil. There she compiled a checklist for quality standards and for what she wanted out of a farm partner. After talking to 30 farms, Aishwarya selected one in the Central Coast of California to produce her company's custom blends. In 2018, Brightland was born.

Brightland is a modern kitchen essentials brand selling handcrafted, California made, extra virgin olive oils and vinegars. The company's products are never rotten, over processed, or fraudulent, and are free of fillers and artificial preservatives. Brightland sources its ingredients directly from family-run farms in the Central Coast of California and packages its products in artistically-designed bottles inspired by fashion and beauty.

“The philosophy behind Brightland is to live more awake, alive, and aware.” - Aishwarya
